Capcom used its Summer Game Fest 2026 slot to unveil the full Street Fighter 6 Year 4 character pass, and the headline act is hard to miss: Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII is joining the roster as a guest fighter, arriving in early 2027.

The full Year 4 lineup and release windows
At the 2026 Summer Game Fest, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII was confirmed as a DLC guest character for Street Fighter 6, joining the Year 4 Season Pass alongside new characters Arjun, Yasmine, and Bosch. This marks the first Street Fighter 6 season with no returning classic characters, as the year is made up of three newcomers and one guest.

Tifa is currently slated to be the third character of the set to release, and she will be available as part of the Year 4 Character Pass or Ultimate Pass.
Materia comes to the fight
After the reveal trailer, Street Fighter 6 Director Takayuki Nakayama and Square Enix Director Naoki Hamaguchi took to the stage to explain that Materia will feature as a new gameplay mechanic for Tifa, and that another "iconic Final Fantasy element" will also be adapted for the game.
Nakayama described the depth of the crossover work:
"Everything from her design to movement has been rebuilt as Tifa the Street Fighter."
Hamaguchi added: "Tifa is a character loved by players all around the world," explaining the motivation behind bringing her into the Street Fighter universe.
In the game's lore framing, Tifa is described as a highly skilled practitioner of Zangan-ryu Martial Arts who excels in close-range combat, combining her martial arts techniques with unique powers called Abilities.
The rest of the Year 4 cast
Yasmine is a high-schooler hailing from the Philippines who joins the fight to search for her long-lost brother; despite a shy demeanour, she wields a crescent-shaped karambit knife with high-speed, dance-like movement.
Bosch is not a entirely new face - he served as the player's rival in Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode, and there had long been questions about whether he would ever become a playable character.
No World Tour story content
Tifa will not receive any World Tour story content, as Capcom previously stated that the story mode would not be updated after the recent release of Ingrid. Those wanting more story content involving Tifa will instead be able to look forward to Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which was also announced at Summer Game Fest.
Tifa's arrival in early 2027 coincides with the Summer Game Fest reveal of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final game in the FFVII remake trilogy.
