A proven performer coming to new hardware
First released in 2023, the critically acclaimed Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has surpassed 5 million players to date and sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The player count figure includes Game Pass subscribers alongside retail and digital sales.
The Complete Edition was previously released for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 6, 2024. The Switch 2 version is described by publisher Koei Tecmo as a dark Three Kingdoms action RPG - a Soulslike built by the team behind the Nioh series, set during the Later Han Dynasty in 184 AD.
Sequel already confirmed for 2027
The Switch 2 port arrives at a busy moment for the franchise. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is currently in development and is scheduled to release early 2027 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox on PC, and Steam. The title will also be available day one with Xbox Game Pass. Playing the Complete Edition on Switch 2 this September will serve as a natural on-ramp for anyone coming to the series fresh ahead of the sequel.
For deal hunters already on other platforms, the Complete Edition has been widely available since early 2024 - but the Switch 2 launch makes this the first time Nintendo players can experience Team Ninja's Three Kingdoms Soulslike without switching hardware.
