Summary
New Power injects fresh content and realism into the world of Realpolitiks. A mini-scenario featuring an actual nuclear threat, Non-Governmental Organizations that try to influence politics and new features for creating larger territorial units are all highlights of this DLC.
Storyline
The world gazed in terror as yet another powerful shock wave spread through the Pacific Ocean. Despite the usual denials from North Korea, international investigators have no doubt that it was an NK nuclear test behind the disturbance. With each passing day, the dictatorship’s moves are becoming bolder and bolder. It seems only a matter of time before it unleashes the destructive power of the atom on anyone who dares to stand against North Korea. South Korea and the USA are aware that the aces are no longer in their hands and are getting ready for a preemptive strike. But will their citizens and allies allow them to start what could result in a global nuclear war? And isn’t it too late already?
Enter the conflict as one of the following countries and lead it to victory: USA, China, North Korea, Japan.

The New Power Release is inclusive of all DLC and patches given to the game since it's PC release in 2017. You have countless ways to play, as you can play as any country in the world, and govern it in almost any way you'd like. There are also several campaigns you can choose to play as well. The game is fairly streamlined, and playing it does have a learning curve, but it isn't too sharp. You don't exactly control anything as directly as you do in the majority of strategy games I've played but rather you influence the path of your country through researching policies and building. As well as playing modern real-world countries, there are several alternate timelines that portray the world quite differently. The Wars that you may have to deal with are also quite streamlined too and are fairly simplistic. They're basically battles of attrition and resource that you influence mostly through building as far as I can tell. In some of the scenarios, you can even battle in the race for space! If you enjoy a great Grand Strategy game, Realpolitiks is a great place to look. Its system is easy enough to dive into and deep enough to keep your strategic mind going strong.
