another classic that ruined by the new generation of developers who don't know about game design. bad level design with worse game mechanic, another classic that ruined by the new generation of developers who don't know about game design. bad level design with worse game mechanic, can you imagine a boss level without any block on the floor, the only way to avoid the boss is jumping on the bubble? can you imagine a level with smaller transparent blocks allowing you to jump through, and bigger transparent blocks that are not allowing you to jump through?the cute design is for kids, but I can assure you, no one kid below 12 years old can play through the game.the old classic 2d version included is so much better. they have only one mission, remaster the game with better graphic, but still they failed miserably
Playing solo it can feel toocasual but Hard mode stageswith a friend (or four) farebetter. Ultimately, the inclusionof the original arcadegame is a saving graceand is as addictive asever.
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron Is Back! is a fantastic revival of a classic arcade game that has stood the test of time beautifully. If you're a fan of the series then this newly improved modern interpretation will be sure to delight.
As a single player game Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is utterly pedestrian, lacking the frantic pace of the original. Most of the repurposed features such as power ups and jumping on bubbles detract rather than enhance the experience, but add in some friends and it's still fun, especially if you want to be devious and sabotage the other players.
As someone who was left wanting more after completing Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, I found the new levels offered in The Baron is Back to be the perfect salve to soothe my bubble-bursting itch. The addition of a few more power-ups to go with them would have been nice for sure, But really, that’s just nitpicking. At the end of the day, this update succeeds in making Bubble Bobble 4 Friends feel like the game it should have been when it was initially released earlier this year.
