Atlus has launched an official Original Character Popularity Poll for Persona 5: The Phantom X, giving players one vote each to crown their favourite from the game's 63 original characters. Voting is open via an official Google Form and runs until June 30, 2026.

Who Can You Vote For?

The ballot covers the full breadth of P5X's original cast - characters created exclusively for this spin-off rather than carried over from mainline Persona titles. Nominees include main protagonists like Wonder, Lufei, Motoha, and Shoki, as well as minor supporting figures such as Marthym, World History Teacher Taniyama, and even Orange Tabby. Persona 5: The Phantom X was developed by Black Wings Game Studio and is published worldwide by Sega. All of its original characters were created under the supervision of Shigenori Soejima and the rest of the Persona team.

What Winners Receive

Atlus has outlined a tiered reward structure for the poll's top performers:

Finish Reward
Top 5 Appear in an official wallpaper
Top members Featured in "P5X What If? Showcase: Phantom Thieves of Another Story" video
Winners Additional unspecified rewards

The "What If?" video is the headline prize - a dedicated showcase imagining top-voted characters in alternate scenarios, a format that could carry significant weight for invested fans of the game's original story.

Persona 3 Reload Crossover Running Alongside the Poll

The popularity poll arrives during an active Persona 3 Reload crossover arc that has been rolling out in waves. The Version 4.1 update introduced the first part of the crossover event, "Met by Moonlight," alongside Makoto Yuki as a playable character; the crossover story brings the Phantom Thieves into locations inspired by Persona 3 Reload, including Tartarus and Paulownia Mall.

Sega and Atlus are gradually adding more crossover characters from Persona 3 Reload to the Japanese and Global English servers. Following Makoto Yuki, the Version 4.2 update added Yukari Takeba, with Akihiko Sanada set to follow via the Version 4.3 update launching June 11, 2026.

The earlier East Asian servers have already seen the additions of Yukari, Akihiko, Mitsuru, Fuka, Junpei, Koromaru, and Aigis - meaning further S.E.E.S. members are plausibly on the roadmap for global players too, though no official confirmation has been made for regions beyond East Asia.

The popularity poll is a smart move during a milestone period - the 1st anniversary window is the ideal moment to spotlight the original cast Atlus and Black Wings built from scratch, particularly as crossover guest characters from Persona 3 Reload dominate the current banner cycle. Players who want their favourite original P5X character to get some recognition have until June 30 to cast their vote.
