Capcom has issued a new update for Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, rolling out now on Nintendo Switch and all other supported platforms. The patch addresses a spread of bugs across all three games in the collection and adds one quality-of-life feature players have been asking for.
What the Update Adds
The headlining addition is the ability to swap the confirm and cancel buttons in the controller settings menu - a welcome option for players who prefer the Japanese input layout or simply want a different feel.
Fixes Across All Three Games
The update touches the main menu and each individual game. Here is a compact breakdown:
| Area | Issue Fixed |
|---|---|
| Music Menu | "007 Wave Square" and "029 Network" tracks in Star Force 2 were swapped |
| Awards | Certain Awards would not unlock under specific conditions |
| Award Text | English description updated to match actual unlock conditions |
| Network Battle | Game could get stuck while connecting to matchmaking |
Star Force 1 fixes include the "Class Review" mail being deleted under certain circumstances, platforms and lanes remaining red in the Truck Comp after restoring the Bull Programs, and a Zap Ace virus moving outside the battle area when attacked.

Star Force 2 received corrections for the "Bat. Review" mail deletion bug, a "Double Cross" Battle Card exploit that allowed opponents to perform a cut-in against a stolen card, and a display issue where the "Tribe King" Bonus Card could show a negative attack power number. The update also fixes a counter bug where defeating Apollo Flame DX would not increment the DX boss defeat total or trigger the completion mail.
Star Force 3 patches cover Search Eye overwriting search targets unintentionally, a Noise Wave that would not open with the language set to English, the Meteor Server being accessible when Noise Level exceeded 200% outside of Noise Form, and Omega bosses failing to appear when the encounter rate was set to "No Encounters" or "Maximum" while the "Warning Bell!" soundtrack played. Miscellaneous text errors were also fixed across all three games.
About the Collection
Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is developed and published by Capcom and released on March 27, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. The collection includes three versions of Star Force 1 (Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon), two versions of Star Force 2 (Zerker x Ninja and Zerker x Saurian), and two versions of Star Force 3 (Black Ace and Red Joker), along with online multiplayer battles.
The collection runs on Capcom's RE Engine and is directed by Koji Oda. Like other Legacy Collection releases, it includes an HD Filter that allows the use of higher-definition graphics, which can be toggled on or off - covering in-game text, character icons, Battle Card images, and battles.
This patch is a solid sign that Capcom is actively supporting the collection post-launch. With the music swap bug in particular likely to have annoyed anyone using the jukebox since day one, it is a good update to grab immediately.
