The puzzles have been ruined by a combination of contradictory new mechanics as well. I just wish I'd quit it soon enough to get it refunded...
It could have, and should have, been so much more than just a bigger version of the original. The new characters would have been problematic in 2015, let alone 2021.

Outside of the puzzles there are lots of small issues with how items and XP are handled. The UI is not intuitive in many areas and can take a few minutes to figure out with experimentation. Overall a definite step back from the first game in terms of quality of life.Half the new girls are decent, but about half of the new cast is annoying or a stereotype, but almost everyone has shallow writing. Also there's 12 characters at the start: which is as many as the entirety of the first game. Sadly there are no "secret" characters either, once you finish the goal given at the start, that's it.The art has not evolved or improved from the first. Girls no longer send photos, and there's only CG of the sex scenes. The style is the same and the outfits are good for the most part.Despite all these things, it's a decent bejewled-esque game. Not nearly as good as the first; an excellent example that less can be more.
